Wind Turbine Power Design-Build Package

What is a wind turbine system?

A wind turbine system is a smart sustainable way to create clean energy and power that can be used in various applications. Wind turbines manufactured today are horizontal axis upwind machines. Components of a wind turbine can vary, but the basic parts of a wind turbine system include, a generator, rotor, or an alternator mounted on a frame, a tail, a tower, wiring, and controllers, inverters, and or batteries. Two or three spinning blades capture the kinetic energy of the wind and converts that energy into rotary motion to drive the generator. In addition to the basic structural components that make up a wind turbine there are other parts needed, these parts will depend on the application of the wind turbine system, and whether the system is grid connected, stand-alone, of part of a hybrid system.

A grid connected application will require a power conditioning unit or inverter, this makes the output compatible with the utility grid, batteries are usually not needed

A stand alone system which is a system that is not connected to the utility grid require batteries to store excess power generated to use when there is no wind to create power.
