What
is the cost?
The cost of a photovoltaic solar system will vary.
Much is to be taken into consideration when determining
the price of a PV Solar System, such as the size
of the facility and how much power is required.
For instance, an industrial facility will require
a much larger PV system than that of a small retail
business. An industrial facility system may be
between $200-500k, and for a small retail business
system may be around $15k. But don’t worry
about the high price, through government incentives
a healthy portion is paid for by the government.
Investment
Not only does a solar PV system add to the equity
of your business, it is a long term, low risk,
high return way to invest you money. You receive
an initial tax free annual return of 5-11%, which
is better than most high risk investment options
like bonds or stocks. As PG&E rates increase,
your annual return increases.
Electric
Bill
With
a photovoltaic solar system you can greatly reduce
if not eliminate your electric bill. And your
system generates more power than being consumed,
it will go onto the PG&E grid and you will
be given a credit. You may be able to take advantage
of the time-of-use metering; which lets you put
power onto the grid during peak hours and use
power during off-peak hours.
